The village Amiata, remained intact, he lived according to the influential Abbey of the same name until, in 1787, Leopold I ordered its suppression. His monks were often invisible to the most important families in the district, as directed towards a political fight magnification of the territories. The crypt of the church building dates from the first (eighth century): the cross plant houses a forest of 40 columns decorated in a rare and unique decorative capitals.
