Gourmet and Wine Excursions
We do not live to eat, and neither do we eat just to live, and since ”who wants be happy,it is. there is no certainty of tomorrow”….
The roads to the wineries are right here; the road to the Brunello of Montalcino, the Vino Nobile of Montepulciano, the Chianti of the Colli Senesi, the red wines of the Val D’Orcia and the Morellino of Scanzano. Furthermore, in every locality there are cheeses, salamis and special tastes to make you journey even more enjoyable.
Casa Lemmi B & B offers visits to famous wine cellars and rooms awaits you withexcellent wines to taste.
Along the Road of Flavours and Festivals:
Every area offers its precious liquids: Docg and Doc production for Chianti wine and Vin Santo from Arezzo, the Doc of S. Gimignano (the same Vernaccia [dry white wine] mentioned by Dante in his Divine Comedy), the sublime Brunello of Montalcino and the Nobile from Montepulciano. The DOC wines of Orcia, Montecucco and Monteregio (the latter two from the hills overlooking Grosseto), together with the red wines of Torgiano, Montefalco and the white Orvieto Classico are not the last on the ever growing list: just try one and you will want to add yet another to it.
CUISINE and LOCAL PRODUCE
In Tuscany these two terms are all one, and both the quality and the original flavours of the food have remained unchanged over the centuries. Pici [pasta], pappardelle with hare, tomato and bread soup, acquacotta [soup], panzanella [bread and tomato salad], pheasant broth; finocchiona [fennel salame], brawn, neck of beef, cibreo di rigaglie [giblets]; panforte [honey and almond cake] and ricciarelli: these are but a few of the varied, exquisite dishes on the Tuscan menu.
CULTURAL EVENTS, FESTIVALS, DISPLAYS
Numerous are the cultural appointments on the Tuscan agenda. A refined selection proposes concerts in charming settings, theatrical performances – how can we not mention the Teatro Povero di Monticchiello ?- and ballet. Historic anniversaries, re-enactments in historic costume and local festivals are always linked to genuine local specialities, where tradition and strong sense of belonging to the surrounding land go hand in hand.
